ABOUT THE WEBINAR:Creating a social media policy or guidelines for your organization can be a daunting task. Many companies begin communicating in the social media landscape and then have to step back to build their policies. So, where do you start? Deirdre Breakenridge outlines what you need to know to develop a social media policy that fits your organization. You will learn how to:
- Select a coalition of employees who understand social media communications and who will create and follow your policy.
- Identify social media policies, representative of your industry, that have been created by other organizations.
- Develop a matrix or “guidelines for engagement” for comparison to your organizations’ social media environment.
- Fit the policy to your company’s Code of Ethics or Code of Conduct.
- Understand and abide by legal issues including: consumer protection unfair trading regulations, intellectual property rights (copyright and trademark), invasion of privacy and more.
