OC/PRSA and PR NEWSWIRE proudly presents the OC/PRSA Fourth Annual Diversity Conference -- the half-day working conference will pair up with the monthly luncheon series and bring today's hottest issues surrounding diversity in PR to the forefront. Titled "Hi-Tech, High-Touch" - Exploring Targeted PR & Marketing for Today's Diverse Audiences, the program will include special guest speakers and interactive media panels ready to address concerns and issues for today's 21st century diverse PR workforce.
As the event hosts, we are honored to bring you a lineup that explores these critical issues at hand. We will initiate insightful discussion on diversity issues that not only encompass race but gender, sexual orientation, age, and disability. We, as, members of the media, communications and marketing fields, the responsibility to serve as advocates for diversity and inclusion is incumbent upon all of us. With communication changing to the digital realm, our roles in bridging the analog and digital worlds are even greater. It is imperative that we remain true to delivering messages in the best form possible to reach today's diverse audiences.
Southern California has become a majority minority community, businesses here as well as in other parts of the nation must embrace diversity in their business practices. Nearly one-third of Americans now come from a mix of other racial and ethnic groups, primarily African-American, Hispanic and Asian. Through its diversity initiative, OC/PRSA is working to make the public relations profession more inclusive by emphasizing the impact of diversity to the bottom line.
The half-day program begins with a morning roundtable (8AM-11AM): "OC Firsts: Diversity Milestones & Celebrations." This roundtable will cover areas of diversity first within the County. The luncheon session (11:30AM-1:30PM) is an expert media panel titled: "Hi-Tech, High Touch." Which aims to offer strategic insights and best practices from some of the region's and nation's best PR and marketing campaigns - including entertainment, consumer, non-profit and government.
Participation and sponsorship is still needed and we hope you will contribute in this important dialogue.
