Thinning Line of Blogging & Journalism

March 19, 2009

March Luncheon:
The Thinning Line of Blogging & Journalism

By now, we all understand that blogging is a reality in our profession. We’ve attended seminars, held meetings and developed plans to best utilize this medium. For many, it’s been a boon to their image, brand and message.

But what happens when a blog threatens your client or organization’s reputation? How can we act to ensure our message is included in the first place? And how do we correct correctly?

An expert panel of blogging and media experts will help us to:
  • Understand best ways to avoid pitfalls
  • Ways to constructively participate in the blogging phenomenon
  • Better understand the ethics involved in blogging journalism
  • And more
Speakers include:
  • Mary Rickles, Director of Communications & Media, Netroots Nation
  • Matthew Cunningham, Editor-in-Chief of Red County blog
  • Sonya Smith, Director on the national board of the Society of Professional Journalists and blogger at the OC Register
The event moderator is:
  • Greg Young, APR, principal of GYPR

The Thinning Line luncheon is hosted by the Advocacy Committee, which has been established to keep OCPRSA members and guests apprised of industry issues.
