Primary Purpose: Responsible for promoting favorable perceptions of Southern California Gas Company and San Diego Gas & Electric and creating loyalty for residential and nonresidential programs and services through integrated customer communications. Responsible for providing integrated strategies to support communications objectives of business units, and for anticipating issues and bringing diverse work groups with shared customer targets together to enable coordinated communications.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities: On a proactive basis, this position is responsible for:
Providing media relations support for customer programs and field operations
Establishing and maintaining a liaison role with other departments (including field operations) to maximize early-stage communications and consistent messages
Developing press releases, media talking points and other editorial materials
Providing crisis communications support during emergencies and emergency drills
This position must work across functions seamlessly.
Requirements: Typically requires a bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related filed and three years experience or equivalent training and/or experience. Candidate must be fluent (both written and spoken) in Spanish. A Masters degree is highly desirable.This position is located in Los Angeles.
