Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) Division of Ethicon, Inc. is a leading innovator of technologies in the areas of sterilization, high level disinfection, cleaning of medical devices, and hand hygiene. ASP markets STERRAD® Systems, the CIDEX® Family of Products, and PREVACARE® Antimicrobial Hand Gel. The company is focused on hospitals and surgery centers.
The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist will manage the process for review and approval of promotional copy by Regulatory Affairs, Legal and other subject-matter experts, including collection and routing of all materials. Perform proofreading for all materials submitted for copy clearance. Graphic design support. Develop and implement processes for promotional material expiration or renewal. Develop/provide training on copy clearance and claims approval processes, trademark and copyright for all levels of the ASP organization, as well as for external partners. Play lead role in the automation of the copy clearance process. Support corporate communications and marketing communications in the development and distribution of online and offline communications. Promotional Copy Clearance process (SP-05006) by: Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of ASP external-facing communications by facilitating a cross-functional review process. Proof-reading promotional copy and claims to ensure accuracy and consistency. Trafficking (aka "routing") and/or assisting with the trafficking of all external-facing communications. Looking for ways to improve and/or automate the current copy clearance process. To support the marketing communications and corporate communications functions by: Creating presentations and internal communications. Providing graphic design support (creating professional looking flyers, banner ads, and other marketing communications collateral). Distributing internal communications via email. Working cross-functionally to obtain necessary information for communications. Updating internet and extranet content.
Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of 4 years experience in Advertising, Library Sciences, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Regulatory Affairs with a focus on communications initiatives required. Medical Device experience strongly desired. Excellent written communication skills including copy editing and proofreading required. Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing copy and adhering to standard processes required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint required. Advanced proficiency using Adobe Acrobat, Indesign and Illustrator preferred. PhotoShop required. HTML experience required; Flash and DreamWeaver preferred. Some experience/understanding of database programs (e.g., Microsoft Access, Filemaker Pro) preferred. Ability to quickly learn and apply other software packages as required. Up to 10% domestic travel required.
