J Public Relations' San Diego office is accepting applications for a Publicist position. Our office continues to rapidly grow and we're looking for the "right" candidate, with a strong work ethic, to work on top hospitality and culinary accounts. The ideal candidate should be an enthusiastic PR professional with a proven track record handling high-end travel, hospitality, and lifestyle accounts and for providing clients with top-tier media results locally, regionally and nationally. Considered candidates must be extremely connected with the local and regional media landscape (print, online, broadcast) with a specific focus on travel, culinary, consumer and lifestyle. Candidate must also be an engaged participant in various social media platforms and have experience utilizing these platforms to help generate awareness for clients. Candidates must currently be living in San Diego.

Our ideal Publicist candidate:
Must have a minimum of 2-4 years experience in the hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant and consumer lifestyle arenas, either having worked in an agency or in-house position
Must have stellar local/regional media references
Must thrive in a collaborative, fast paced environment
Must pride themselves on their creativity and attention to detail
Must have experience and confidence taking the lead on account initiatives
Must be able to demonstrate past secured placements and successes
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the ever-evolving social media landscape and its impact on PR in addition to familiarity working with online media outlets and blogs
Excellent verbal and written skills are a must
Experience overseeing junior team members and delegating account activities
Exuberance for seeking out what's new and notable in the industries we serve
