Community Service Committee
The OC/PRSA Community Service Committee gives charitable PR practitioners a chance to share their skills with local nonprofit organizations, while at the same time exposing the community to the value of PR.

Community Service Committee activities for 2006 included:
- The 1st Annual Strategic PR for Nonprofits workshop: a day of training on the basics of public relations for nonprofit executives; took place on Friday, Sept. 8. at the Orange County Transportation Authority, located at 550 S. Main St., Orange, CA.
- PR Face-to-Face: a happy-hour event in which nonprofit executives get to spend 20 minutes each with a variety of PR practitioners, from whom they can get help with specific PR needs.
- PR Matchmaking: PR practitioners with at least five years experience are asked to donate a few hours a year to help nonprofits with their one-time PR needs. Matchmaking volunteers may be asked to byline an article, edit marketing materials, make media pitch calls for an event, help write a grant proposal, draft a press release or any number of invaluable PR tasks.
