Change is evident everywhere – from the rise of the collaborative economy, to an upswing in consumer consciousness, to the demand for authenticity and transparency. It’s like there’s a kinetic energy shifting how we work, live and play.

In this kind of dynamic environment, leaders, thinkers and doers thrive – and that’s why I’m honored to serve as president of OCPRSA this year. Our chapter not only is the No. 1 resource for hundreds of PR professionals in Southern California, we’re also an incubator of ideas that are advancing the profession of public relations.

I’ve been a member of this chapter for 14 years. Like so many of our members, I credit OCPRSA with giving me the opportunity to be ahead of the evolving landscape of public relations. Our chapter not only offers an abundance of professional development advantages, we also give members the forum to spotlight their achievements and forge valuable connections that enhance their careers. (Not to mention we have a lot of fun doing it!)

This year, you’ll find OCPRSA presenting diverse programs designed to encourage, educate and engage members. After all, you’re in the position to affect change and lead the public relations industry, and we are here to support you to take the reins.

Our membership includes professionals at every career stage – from eager students, to seasoned professionals, to independent practitioners and agency leaders – and represents nearly every industry in Orange County. We hope to welcome you at one of our YoPro (Young Professionals) events, APR Certification sessions, new member mixers, meet the media breakfasts, monthly luncheons or our PROTOS awards gala. You are a part of a close-knit family and will always have a home at OCPRSA.

If I can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Brenda Springer
2017 OCPRSA President
