Shining Star Award

Each year, one recipient from Orange County’s four local universities is selected through an application process to receive the Shining Star “Emerging Leader” Award. This award is OCPRSA’s highest honor for a graduating senior, recognizing outstanding service, commitment, and leadership within their PRSSA chapter and local community.

This award will be available to graduating college seniors active in their PRSSA chapters at one of the four designated universities (Biola University, Chapman University, California State University Fullerton, California State University Long Beach). Following the application process, honorees will be selected by chapter advisors and endorsed by the relevant liaisons.

OCPRSA awards one scholarship annually to an individual student at each of the four targeted campuses. Each student will receive $1,000 toward any PRSA expenses they incur for up to two years following receipt of the award (expensed through the OCPRSA chapter treasurer). Example expenses could include: membership, program attendance, webinars, among others. Award recipients will be recognized at OCPRSA’s PROTOS Awards dinner (tentatively scheduled for September 18).

Graduating seniors interested in applying for the Shining Star “Emerging Leader” award can contact info@ocprsa.org and/or download the 2018 Application  and submit by the deadline for consideration.
