Crafting the Perfect Pitch

Thursday, August 19, 2021
12 -1 p.m. on Zoom

In today’s 24/7 news cycle, you need to stand out with an engaging pitch to garner journalists’ attention and land media coverage. But what are journalists looking for with pitches? And what should you avoid saying, so your pitch doesn’t end up in the trash folder?

Newport Beach Independent Editor and PR professor Christopher Trela has written and read countless pitches, and he has practical tips to help you take the next step in your PR career. Christopher will share on pitching from both a PR and journalist perspective. And he’ll review actual pitches he’s received – the good and the bad.

As a bonus, Christopher is willing to critique your pitch during the session! If you’d like to participate, email him at between 11:50 am.- 12 p.m. the day of the event and he’ll review your pitch as a journalist would.
