Your Story Matters

OCPRSA’s annual diversity event, Your Story Matters, will be held online this year. Join other PR practitioners on August 26 from 8:30-10 a.m. PT for a time of powerful stories, pivotal conversations and practical application.

As organizations navigate the unraveling of the country’s hurt and pain over racial injustice, communicators hold the responsibility for telling the stories of their diverse communities. Stories have the power to bridge the gap between people from different backgrounds and cultures and give voice to the marginalized. Stories have the power to correct misperceptions about people from diverse backgrounds. Stories shape us. They make us human. We will hear personal stories from diverse speakers and how they have influenced their profession. We will also learn practical building blocks on storytelling and how to share stories from diverse perspectives.
