The Social Media Specialist oversees strategic marketing communication across Biola University’s official social media platforms, including undergraduate and graduate platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, Snapchat and any other platforms that arise. As part of the university’s public relations team, this person will manage the university’s centralized, coordinated social media presence, including monitoring and advising the social media presences of Biola’s various departments and affiliates.

Social media has the potential for vast reach and is increasingly a vital space for real-time engagement with new and prospective constituents. The role of overseeing Biola University’s social media presence is hugely important and requires a person who is technologically savvy, journalistically inclined, relationally adept and passionate about the mission, vision and values of Biola University. The Social Media Specialist will be responsible to maintain Biola’s high standards of social media and content marketing as well as its reputation for being a leader in this area (e.g. Student Advisor’s “Top 100 Social Media Colleges” list). The person in this role has an opportunity to boost Biola’s national and international reputation and to leverage the exciting possibilities of social media marketing for Biola in powerful ways.
