Pro-Bono Opportunity: PR Agency of Record for UCI MIND

UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) is seeking an OC-based PR firm that can serve on pro bono basis for a minimum of 2 years.

UCI MIND is one of 36 Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers (ADRC) funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), a branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and one of 10 California Alzheimer’s Disease Centers funded by the California Department of Public Health.

UCI MIND is seeking to identify a PR partner in Orange County that meets the following criteria:

• A PR firm whose principals have an understanding/appreciation of the public and personal impact of Alzheimer’s disease and want to help UCI MIND continue its efforts to conduct research to prevent and eventually cure this disease.

• A PR firm with team members available to contribute approximately in total 10-15 hours per month to PR activities, including strategic planning, press releases, media pitching, media training and prep, coordinating interviews, and attending UCI MIND events. In any given year, we have had 6-8 releases that have been prepared.

• A PR firm with strong local OC media contacts, especially those reporters whose beats include health.

• A PR firm with a history of working with pro bono accounts.

From those interested, UCI MIND will schedule interviews with firms. During these interviews, there will be opportunities to discuss each firm’s motivation for acquiring the account; meet the management team and direct contact person; determine whether there is a good fit for both UCI MIND and the PR firm.
